Each year thousands of tonnes of perfectly good sofas are thrown away – and can’t be given to families who want them. Why not?

Because they are missing fire labels. These seemingly simple tags are a sofa’s passport to a second life, and without one they are relegated to landfill or incineration.

Leading on from our ‘Rearranging the Furniture’ report Lucy Chamberlin, Design Resident Ella Doran and Kingston Community Furniture went on site for an interview with Radio 4’s PM programme.
